Note to self: Watching DBSK concert DVDs totally impairs your ability to write. You have a very large fic to finish. Next time, just put in Stargate.

Also, working Big Red Welcome tomorrow. Going to be hot and horrible, but yay overtime? Really going to need it in the coming couple months. About a week and a half till the New Orleans vacation. Janel's uber excited and I want to be excited, but... well... scary. Which it doesn't seem fair of me to be scared when I dragged Janel up here and it's not like she gets to leave in five days after meeting MY family. She's stuck here. But it's still scary. But it'll be time away from work no matter what happens. So yay.

Cosplay is... coming along. Very slowly. So very slowly. Really don't know if we'll finish any of these costumes before November, but it's kind of fun anyway. And I'm making chainmaille. How cool is that? Chainmaille! Me! Making my very own! Out of real links and everything! Also trying to work on my fics for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo but mostly failing so far. We'll see. I'll get at least one bingo if it kills me, but it's frustrating, wanting to write and not finding the time for that and rp and everything else ever and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Man, this is a longer post than I've made in months. Damn. Um... Also watching Protect the Boss. Oh, lord, this show will be the death of me. It's cute and heartbreaking and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah it needs to get subbed faster, fersrs.

Anyway. Flist. What's up with you?
corellianrogue: (Bad Idea Bears)
So, yeah, thanks to the horrible enabling of [livejournal.com profile] mellow_dk and [livejournal.com profile] rhosyn_du I decided to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo and now I have my card, and it is seriously the awesomest card to ever awesome. No, really, it is. See?

See the awesome of my card! )

I already have ideas for a good portion of them, as well as some extras. I think I'm going to attempt a DBSK blackout, then go back and pick up other bingos and extras with different fandoms. Hopefully that offer of betaing still stands, Rainy? ^^;

The stories will most likely all be posted over at [livejournal.com profile] envious_muses which is my sadly neglected writing journal. I'll try to remember to post links here whenever I get a bingo, though, and I will keep this post updated as I remember.

Let's see... anything interesting been going on IRL lately? Hm. Well, I'm making a cosplay again for the first time in years. It's all [livejournal.com profile] transitorial's fault. I'm making two of them, actually, for Nebraskon in November. Vanille from FF13 and Merrill from Dragon Age 2. If you don't know Merrill, this is Merrill.

Photobucket

She's an elf. An elf wearing a chainmail catsuit. This is going to be a long few months.

Joking aside, the chainmail is coming along remarkably well, even if it doesn't look like anything yet. As for Vanille, I have plans for her weapon, we'll see if they work out. I'm also thinking of just dyeing my hair pink instead of getting a wig. Why would I do that, you ask? Because I can. Because my job is awesome and doesn't care if I have pink hair. Well, blue, technically was what I asked about, because this was long before the cosplay idea came up, and my boss was all 'sure, you can dye your hair blue. in fact, I'm expecting you to show up with blue hair now, so you'd better do it.'

I love my job. Have I mentioned that? It's the most boring, mind-numbing place to work that I have ever encountered with some of the most horrible, entitled, bitchy customers ever (I work in a Parking office at a university, in case some people didn't know, and oh lord the helicopter parents) but the people are amazing and I can dye my hair blue (or pink) and show up in tennis shoes every day, and check Facebook all day, and as long as I get my work done, no one cares! And just the other day, my boss was joking about me not taking ENOUGH time off!

And my department director changed his title to 'TK-427' in our official records.

I really love my job.

I should totally be doing homework, but....

1.Fic dump and icon dump over on [livejournal.com profile] envious_muses including (but not limited to) FMA, Diabolo, Saiyuki. Go read, comment, enjoy the fruits of my labor, such as they are...... Ah, who'm I kidding? I'm a comments whore. Feed my addiction.

2. I never got around to posting about this when it happened, but my mom is finally out of the hospital. The docs are apparently surprised by how well she's recovering for someone who had the treatment she did. She's really tired and worn out all the time, but I think she's getting better. Thank you to all those people who kept her in their thoughts or lit a candle for her or anything. She means the world to a lot of people.

3. Finally, because I'm not procrastinating enough, apparently- I'm doing the interest icon challenge. Comment here and I'll choose one of your interests to make an icon out of. You get no say in which interest, and I don't guarrantee quality.

... and sure, why the heck not, I'll add in a drabble to go along with the icon. So comment with a character/pairing and I'll make you an icon and a drabble. I'm booooooored, folks.
corellianrogue: (Default)
Although I sometimes wish it were otherwise.

School is getting busy-ish as I have to finish my final that's due on Friday, but I'm not worried. Got up and left class early today to make my bus. I just finally decided that listening to him read the Gospel of John for five more minutes wasn't worth waiting another hour and a half for the next bus. So, yeah.

Finally, all five (yes, five, even though there were only four requests) flashfics are up here. Go read them, enjoy them, make more requests, you know, whatever. ;D They're all in the comments in response to the requests. I would post them elsewhere, but I'm kinda lazy. Oh well.
corellianrogue: (Greed- cheers by ani)
The first 15 people to comment on this post get to request a drabble from you. In return, they have to post this in their journal and write a drabble for you. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for.

Your friends can pick a relationship, a story arc, a missing scene, or pretty much anything they want, unless the author has previously mentioned that they will not write it. They comment with what they want, and you write drabbles and post it in your LiveJournal.

Fandoms (including some I've never actually written for before- EXPANDING MY HORIZONS, YO!):

Andromeda
FF8, 9, X/X-2
FMA
Saiyuki
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
Star Wars (canon and EU up to the start of New Jedi Order)
Naruto
RENT
Stargate SG-1

So... okay, shoot, although I don't promise that whatever comes out will be at all sane. /disclaimer

Folks, I would just like to warn you all that the government has once again allowed another nutcase out on the roads....

Yep, I went and got my license renewed today. *ph34r* The best part was when Noel (my car for those who haven't had the sheer terror joy of riding with me) almost stalled getting out of the parking lot. I thought breaking down at the DMV might be somehow poetic.

Okay, and as a totally selfish meme... I wanna find out who reads this sucker, soooooooo- comment and I'll give you a drabble in the reply. Gimme a prompt, and I shall do my best to write it for you. Basically, this is ME bribing YOU to comment in my LJ... come on, toss the girl a cookie or something, okay?

Wesley Crusher

You scored 9 Physically Able, 25 Mentally Able, and 20 Morally Good! (30 is max)

You got Wes!

Physically: Low

Mentally: High

Morally: Medium

Wesley is the son of Beverly and is a super science nerd. Even though
he's not a member of Starfleet,(at first) and Captian Picard has orders
to not let kids on the bridge, Wes is allowed to fly the ship. He also
is always working on some science experiment at just the right time as
to save or doom the ship.

Well, you may be, like Wesley, a wimpy little boy. (or wimpy little
girl) Don't let that get you down, though, you don't need to be big and
strong, you've got brain power! Let's face it, you're smarter then
those around you, and you know it. You're not out to change the world,
you're just out to do the best you can. Don't worry, you're not sick
and twisted, and you're well liked by all the dorky people you know.
Wes isn't cool, but you could be... maybe.

The character most unlike you is: Worf

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

OMG, I am a true nerd.

Anyway, so I head over to post today, and I find out livejournal has logged me off. Now it's not supposed to do that period, but it also wouldn't accept my password. grrrr. Finally it did and I don't know what was going on, but stupid machine.

So, new stuff over at my fanfiction.net account. Go check it out. FMA drabbles=love. :D You know you want to...

Okay, what am I doing making journal entries at 7:30 in the morning when I don't have to be up today? I shall tell you. I am making a journal entry because the alarm in the room next door has been going off since 6:00 this morning. Yes, that means I have been UP since about 6:00 this morning. Thank God I decided to go to bed early last night (read: 1:00 AM) instead of staying up till all hours like I have the other days of this break. So anyway, Emily, I am wroth with you. Even if that's Chelsey's alarm and not yours, I am still wroth with you for not controlling your roommate... and also because I just like to use the word wroth.

But, there is good news. The early hour has inspired me. Soooooo- in the much loved spirit of The Iliad, abridged, Romeo and Juliet, abridged, and Middle Earth, abridged comes History of the Earth, abridged ) ph34r.

Speaking of, the alarm clock seems to have stopped. If I had just ignored it for another hour and a half...

Anything else? Hmm... Wow, Wilma, only the second time there have been this many tropical storms and hurricanes since the weather service started keeping track. That's a lot. Wow.

Meh, it's too early to think. Which makes one wonder how I got that abridged done... which should make it obvious that there actually isn't that much thought involved in them. Laters.
corellianrogue: (Default)
So, [livejournal.com profile] gollum1215 and I were talking on aim last night. He read Iliad, abridged and Romeo and Juliet, abridged (and was the only one to get what I was trying to do with Mercutio). Then we started talking about what other abridged stuff I might do. If I do the whole list we came up with, this will be a LONG series. hee. Anyway, he mentioned he's rereading Lord of the Rings, so here...is...

Middle Earth, abridged )

whoo! That was a bit longer than I thought it'd be. Almost not abridged anymore. Course, considering how long the original stuff is, I don't feel so bad. :)

Life is happiness right now. No more cold, just a sinus headache. Bunch of tests next week and week after, ickiness. Speaking of... homework calls, bleh. But I've just spent almost an hour avoiding it, so... yeah. Later.
corellianrogue: (Default)
Okay, here by popular demand (aka, the three people who read the Iliad, abridged version)

Romeo and Juliet, abridged )

Okay, now that the silliness is out of my system, I can sleep. SLEEEEEEEP... Anyway, as I slowly go mad from the pressure, expect more such as "Hamlet, abridged" "The Bible, abridged" and even possibly "Les Miserables, abridged"
Who knows what my brain will come up with next.
corellianrogue: (Default)
Wow, sudden influx of comments. You like me... you really like me! *snerk* Yeah. Anyway, taking a break from the studying type stuff. To reply to the sis who left me a comment... yes, I am still reading. Just...slowly. Yeah. I'll get it all done. It just takes time. And energy. Neither of which do I have in abundance right now. Bleh, stupid cold. But despite all the ickyness, I felt the urge to type up another daily summary of my life... such as it is.

Interesting tidbit: new roomie is as adept at losing stuff as ex-roomie. XD That shouldn't amuse me so much, and it's not really FUNNY per se, but ex-roomie lost her keys numerous times when I lived with her (at least once permanently) and now new roomie has misplaced her driver's license. Her license which survived a two-semester stay in Germany is AWOL. *snerk* But really, it's not funny. Speak of the devil... she just found it. Darn. Now it's not fun anymore. ... Um... Not that it was funny to begin with or anything. No.

The Iliad is possibly the most drawn out, plotless thing ever. I could write better than that. In fact, I have. In third grade. (Please don't tell my classics prof I said that, though *guilty glance around*)

Here: the Iliad, abridged version. )

Alright, so maybe I'm a little loony from the cold medicine. Or it could be the boredom induced halucinations. One can never tell.

Oh, and to a certain Nan who may or may not read this in the near future: HAPPY GRAM'S DAY NAN!!!!!! :D
corellianrogue: (Default)
Okay, it's now *checks clock* a quarter after 4 in the morning. I still have at least three pages to type. But know what? It's just not there. I can so not finish this. But I promised myself I wouldn't go to bed until it was finished. So know what? No bed for me. Heheee. So I'm like officially cracking right now, which I really should have expected, it happens every time I pull an all-nighter. Course, this is the first time and all-nighter has actually threatened to go on ALL NIGHT. heeeeeeee*gasp*. Sad part is I think I'm actually pretty awake right now. Yes, think. Cause if I'm not as awake as I think I am, then I'm too far gone to correctly judge my mental state anyway. That made sense, right? Oh well, if it didn't I'll just laugh about it later. Or right now, whatever...snork. Yeah. Probably the latter. I'm getting kinda twitchy, too, which is never a good sign. And there's a spot on the back of my neck that just won't STOP ITCHING! It won't. grrrr. stupid itchiness. Great, now I'm zoning out AND tweaking. I'm such a loser. But to think, if I just hadn't put off this stupid paper till the last minute, I'd never have gotten to experience this...whatever it is. I don't know why I'm not as tired as I should be... will update later if I'm still up, hee, maybe I'll update day when/if I get this paper done. Yay. And stuff. Damn you, Bush, for provoking al-Qaeda into attacking on 9/11 and giving me the idea to write this stupid paper. Curse you to the Lowest Depths of Hell(TM).
corellianrogue: (Default)
I have a confession to make. I am addicted to anime. Yes, I hear your cries of disbelief, but it is true. I should really stop buying these box sets. Well, technically, my brother bought the Escaflowne box set, but I just bought the first season of Inuyasha. Sigh. I said and said and said that I wouldn't become totally obsessed with the show, but that demon kitty is just too dang cute. I suppose the story's pretty interesting, too, and the characters are good, but I mean, come on, it has two tails! How adorable is that?! Argh, I feel like Hughes. Oh well.

Spring break was fun. A week is just not enough time to totally recoup, though. But summer is coming...yeeesssssssss...I just have to hold out for another month and a bit. I can do that. Roomie is moving out in a couple of weeks, so I'll have a single for most of the rest of the semester. That will hopefully make things easier, or at least allow me to be less cramped, once I can spread my stuff throughout the room. :) Heeehee, heeeehehheheheeheeeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*squeak*cough*choke* Shouldn't let that manic laughter get the better of me like that. *gigglesnork*

In other news, I've actually been writing some lately. Not much, don't have time for much, but some. Got a fun new idea. See, I was having this great dream the other day. I get lots of those, dreams, when I get the chance to sleep in because I actually have lucid dreams a lot of the time, which means I know I'm dreaming and can affect the dreams themselves. I've gotten some of my best story ideas from lucid dreams. Some really bad scares, too. Dreaming that you die in a dream is bad enough, but dreaming that you die when you're fully aware is icky, the brain supplies way too many little details. Especially when the death involves a nuclear warhead at close range. Yeah. Anyway, the dream was kinda a cross between X-Men, a Tom Clancy novel, and that movie where the kids take over their West Point-esque boarding school and face down the US Military. Sadly, my sister woke me before I got to see if I won the firefight or not. Guess that will be up to my imagination later.

Don't really want to go back to school, but I suppose it is inevitable. Major things coming up: 15 pg History paper, Summerstock audition, Relay for Life, test on Monday, finals in general. Much stress, but I shall persevere!
corellianrogue: (Default)
Wrote this for a quiz/challenge thingy over on another lj. Thought I'd post it here. Just a quick little post. Maybe more later.

Harry Potter Drabble )
corellianrogue: (Default)
I just put up a couple of things over on FictionPress (go see them)  and the coolest thing is that within like a half hour of the first going up I got three reviews, and I got two reviews within like the first ten minutes on the other. I was like WOW! because you just don't get many reviews at FictionPress. Don't know why, but you just don't. So I was a bit in shock. Anyway, I felt that my five reviews within like an hour was worth a post. Go read them, yourself. They're good, I promise. Review and make my day.
corellianrogue: (Default)
Okay, I think I have sufficiently gotten over my anger at LiveJournal to attempt to post again. Let's hope so or else this will just devolve into another one of my rants and then, oh well. But there is now much to talk about. We'll start with what was the topic of the two posts that have now been lost forever to cyberspace.

An amazing thing happened to me on Tuesday, namely that I finished my Psych class. It was independent study online and I took the last test on Tuesday. Yep, finished a whole two months and change early. Could have finished last week but I got lazy. But finishing that class means that I am now effectively taking 13 credit hours. I don't know what to do with myself and all my extra time... Oh, wait, yeah, that's right, I'm a theatre major, what extra time? I have rehearsals starting on Friday every day till March 6 (well, 3 of those days are our performances but still) and then, I might be in some directing scenes which mean more rehearsals and there's always work for the actual classes. So yeah, no extra time but more time than before. So yay.

Also finished the entire series of Escaflowne on DVD on Tuesday. 26 episodes, roughly 13 hours of anime, in 3 days. And I only watched one DVD on Monday, so it's really 23 episodes in 2 days. Yeah, that was a lot of anime. But it was so worth it. Escaflowne was shown on FOX kids a few years ago, but they edited it down so much (which isn't really surprising, some eps of the real show are bloodbaths) but they edited it so much that they basically cut the first 15 eps down to nine they showed on TV. That was a lot of cut material, including the entire first episode. That's kinda weird. So the box set was so much more enjoyable, even if I still wanted like three more eps. It just ended so quickly. sigh. I still can't decide if I like Folken, Van, or Merle the most. I do know who I liked the least- Alan Shazar, stupid name, stupid guy. Just didn't like him.

I'm sick today, and I think it's going to get worse. How do I know? Well, it's at that stage of the cold where the nose is kinda runny, but you can still breathe okay, it's just annoying. I've had enough colds in my life to know that it's just lulling me into a false sense of security. Sadly, I don't really have any days off where I can just sleep and get over it. Rehearsals, remember? Guess I'll just try to get to bed as early as I can every night. And take lots of drugs, drugs help. Yeah, drugs.

For some reason, I'm not sure why, I feel kinda bad for typing while the roomie's asleep. Also for some reason, I'm not sure why, I kinda enjoy typing while the roomie's asleep. Some sort of Freudian thing? Possibly. Revenge for all the times she woke me up typing on aim to the bf? Possibly. Me just being evil? >:}

Oh, and new stuff, now signed up on FanFiction.net as well as FictionPress.com. So, not much up on either yet, but come check it out. Review. Reviewing's nice. *cough*hint*cough*comment button*cough* Anyway, off I go on my merry way, to class and beyond.
corellianrogue: (Default)
An early morning entry, scary, ne? Yeah, well, it's because I'm avoiding studying for my whomping huge history test tomorrow. I know, shameless, but still. That's what this thing is for, right? To avoid homework? That's what they told me when I signed up, anyway.

I realized yesterday that I have probably officially become a heathen. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, and I considered going to church, I really did, I just didn't. Go, that is. I know. I should have. But the ashes always get stuck in my hair and it's a pain to get them out. bleh. So I didn't go.

Still not studying. Still not studying.

Wrote a (what I think is a) cute Harper drabble yesterday, again avoiding studying. It's posted over at [livejournal.com profile] harperchondriac . Maybe I'll cross-post it here sometime. Or you could go read it there, whatever.

If the stupid people next door don't stop blasting oldies music, I'm going to injure something. It's slightly quieter now, but only because before it was Diana Ross and she's got a good set of lungs. It's still loud enough that I can clearly make out the songs. Don't know the one playing now though. Better than the time the girl next door went on a "Sister Act" stint and played nothing but the soundtrack from "Sister Act"--still more than loud enough to hear-- for like three days. I think the roomie is getting slightly upset as well, because, unlike me, she's still pretending to sleep.

Finally, the big announcement. Yes, we are IN FACT, even CLOSER to my birthday than we were at my last posting. I know, time moves on, scary, isn't it? We are now T-minus 38 hours and 15 minutes as of this writing. teehee :) Can you tell I can't wait?
