Today's installment of 'people writing stupid things after getting tickets for being stupid.'

No, we certainly don't post the signs in advance, and DEFINITELY not by Tuesday of the game week. Oh wait. We do. Well, then the signs must be really tiny, right? Almost unnoticable...

Oops. (Okay, that one's been run over, but it was the only pic I could find.)
But the kid did have one thing right. I do find it terribly amusing when people do stupid things and get tickets. So yeah, when you ignore those signs and park in illegal places and get ticketed, then yes! You are quite pleasing unto mine eyes!

Date: 2011-05-06 11:52 pm (UTC)Normally the telescope operators are pretty good at finding things that look cool to everyone. Right now, most of the planets are in the dawn sky*, but Saturn is finally far enough into its spring to look more like itself. The summer sky has a couple of nice deep sky objects, including the Ring Nebula, which you can see even from the parking garage. And my favorite double star -- two stars that orbit each other.
Holmes Lake or the big observatory out by Mead are also good places.
* Seriously, look to the east a half-hour before sunrise, if you're up and have a nice east sky. You'll definitely be able to see Venus and Jupiter without knowing much. Maybe Mars. Mercury is there too, but Mercury is a pain to spot unless you know where to look.
