WTF, DGM? No. Seriously. WTF? I know anyone's style can change in FOUR FREAKING MONTHS, but it's like that chapter had a totally new manga-ka. And now you're switching to monthly, but the first issue of THAT will be in NOVEMBER?! Are you TRYING to become totally lame and boring? Because you're doing a pretty damn good job of heading that way. Why did I even bother reading that chapter? Grawr.

I'm sort of kind of catching up on all the manga I've been ignoring for the last almost-year. I've been keeping up on KHR (although I don't know why I bother with that one either. Latest chapter made Gokudera ONCE AGAIN incompetent and useless. fuckers), but that's the only one. Read up on Naruto last night, and it's pretty interesting again and not JUST because Sasuke's back... although that does help. DGM has had that one chapter last month that totally sucked. Hopefully FMA will be a bit better. Think that's next.




ETA: I got a coho~ Haven't had one in so long, and this one is quite good, too!

ETA2: Okay, yeah, FMA is totally better. Chapter 96 is awesome and win. Envy's death was a bit meh, but very Envy-ish. (That's not a spoiler, right? I mean... it's obvious all the homunculi have to die.. right?) Sig + Armstrong = WIN. And there are totally sparkles everywhere.

Converts* strike me as the type that either feel like they need to prove that they Do Belong, or are just zealous enough because they had to break with whatever they were before and not just invent loopholes. If you're born into a religion, you either are more comfortable bending it to fit the person you become, ignoring the bits you don't like, or just keeping to it out of tradition. Catholicism is mild enough that you can get away with this**.

* Well, or we get my sister, who somehow went from 'raised by lapsed Catholic and raised-Catholic agnostic and baptized out of tradition and to appease the grandparents' to active Catholic and yet still has the 'oh, the pope' attitude when I bring up that her political views are pretty at-odds from the Church's. She is a proudly devout Cafeteria Catholic -- pick what you want from religion. (I look forward to the Jenn versus her parish priest if she tries to make me godmother to any of her kids, considering I'm gay, only technically qualify as Catholic because I've never formally renounced my baptism, and wouldn't feel comfortable promising to raise the kid within the Church if something happened.)

** Maybe because they'd lose half of Europe if the started being all No True Catholic.

Lol I didn't read KHR for two weeks now, you want to tell me that in only two chapters they made him look even more useless than they already did?

I've given up on DGM back in 2007. XP; What's-her-name (the mangaka) is crazy and ertrewrwetre. Yes. Ah! But I want to resume watching the anime. ;_; Kobayashi Sanae. <3<3<3

I keep trying to give up on DGM, but then, right before it went on hiatus back in April or whenever, they totally teased us with Kanda backstory. If only they'd ended things in the Ark. It could have had a respectable death, then.
