...Apparently Michael Jackson's death is like THE big news story. Has the world become extra boring over the last 24 hours or are people just that stupid? I mean... okay, I'm posting here, but I'm posting about posting, so it doesn't count, right? Apparently people posting about his death was the cause of LJ's freakout last night, according to BBCA World News, at least. It also almost took down Facebook and Twitter. I really don't know.



Also- I got a strong internet connection last night, so as an experiment, I left my computer on to see if it'd hold onto it. It seems to have. So all I need to do is leave my computer on for the next five days until the dude comes out to fix it. That's totally reasonable... right?

Agreed. I mean, it sucks whenever anyone dies, but aside from that child molestation trial, how much has anyone really thought or heard about him in the last five years? And we're going to be hearing about this all week, at least.

And so many posts have just been the single sentence "Michael Jackson died!" Um yeah. I figured that out from the first two dozen posts that said "Michael Jackson died!" Don't you have anything to add to that statement?

But then, it's possible that people actually have spent a lot of time thinking about him and I just have my head in the sand.

Well, I haven't been thinking about him. I mean, not enough to spend hours going 'OMFG MICHAEL JACKSON DIED WTFBBQ!!!?!?!' Or whatever. It's always odd when a famous person you grew up with dies, since you didn't know them, but they were just THERE, but... this is excessive. I haven't been this facepalmy over the media frenzy since whatshisname, the horse who broke his leg during the Belmont while going for the Triple Crown. I remember the horse had the entire top of the front page, and below the fold? A story about North Korea having nuclear weapons. Because a horse is much more important news in this country than nuclear weapons. -________-
