I hear that, I used to have a big picture window by my bed at home and there was a tree that always attracted hordes of birds right outside said window. So whenever the cat managed to sneak her way into my room, that was the first place she'd head, and she got there via my pillow, whether my head was still on it or not.

And of course the cat had to crawl across you. All kitties must crawl across sleeping humans to reach windows whenever feasible. It's in their contracts.
